Since 1999, the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles has opened to Spirits. For ten years now Grappa, Pisco, Cognac, Whisky, Rum, Tequila, liqueurs and other fruit wines can try to win the prestigious Concours Mondial medals. At all stages of the tasting we can find the professionalism and seriousness for which the Concours Mondial is known in the world of wine competitions. Except that here, the great variety of products and high alcohol level complicate the task of the jury. For music without false notes, since 2006 the organisers have secured the services of a real ‘Maestro’ in the person of Filippo Baldan, one of the worlds best mixologists. Now an excpected rendez-vous, the Spirits Awards, ‘little brother’ of the Concours Mondial, has reached maturity and asks only to keep on growing!
